Maria's Baby Shower....

Flashback to June 28, 2014....

In late August, My dear friend, Maria just had a beautiful baby boy.  But before that...I threw her a baby shower and it was so much fun!  She is always the person doing for others and it was certainly her turn this time.  Maria and her husband Jason have wanted to be parents for many years and they have finally been blessed with their precious Josiah James.  He is such an absolutely precious baby boy!

For her shower, I went with a rustic, Pinterest inspired theme.  For the centerpieces on the tables, I lined up big mason jars wrapped in burlap and ribbon and filled them all with fresh baby’s breath.  The color scheme was yellow, blue and green.  My mom cut out some triangles out of fabric and I made a homemade banner.  I also hung a clothes line filled with clothes and booties for Josiah.  I also made several pom pom fluffs to hang at different lengths from the ceiling.  My sister was my dedicated assistant and did most of the climbing and hanging for me!  We also created a candy buffet station.  We filled glass jars with giant gumballs, sweet candies and chocolates, along with plenty of cellophane bags and ribbon for people to fill up and take home for a treat.  Maria made an adorable tea and coffee station with my artsy chalkboards and chalk markers.  It was so organic and cute.

For the party favors, I made everyone a homemade sugar scrub!  I found the jars at my local dollar store and the recipe can be found in my blog post here.  They were so much fun and so Maria. :)
We also had a diapers and wipes raffle.  It was a great way to get Maria and Jason stocked up with a bunch of diapers and wipes for Josiah!

The menu was pretty packed.  I made my fresh chicken salad with dried cranberries and almonds.  We paired it with buttery croissants and crackers.  We also had spinach dip with lots of dippers, huge mixed-greens salads, cinnamon/brown sugar muffins and cream cheese fruit tartlets.  It was delicious!

Maria invited her family and friends and everyone showered her with love and gifts.  Her mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law even flew in from Houston….it was so special!

Her mom was giddy with excitement and Maria was glowing with happiness....A great time was had by all.
